Overview
MahaaRaashtra is known to be a state with highest number of Jyotirlinga. Trimbakeshwara near Naasik, BhimaShankar near Pune, and Ghrishneshwara near Aurangabaad are considered the ancient sites as mentioned in the Dwaadash (12) Jyotirlinga Strotram. These sites are also considered auspicious for a number of temples in their proximity like AshtaVinaayak circuit near Pune related with Ganesha, Panchavati in Naasik related with ShreeRaama, and grand Ellora caves near Aurangaaad, built by Vaidik, Jain and Buddhist monks, considered to be the biggest marvel of cave architecture, across the world, testimony to the skills of ancient Indians.
